This is a personalized hollow fiber membrane filter. It does not utilize iodine or chlorine. It does not contain a charcoal filter. Removes bacteria (E. coli) and parasitic protozoa (cryptosporidia, Giardia), but not viruses (hepatitis A). Not to be used for drinking salt water, or, water contaminated with chemicals or pesticides. May not be effective in a "dense coliform environment" such as near large agricultural operations.
